Taking back the inner thigh!👐 Our society has brought us to a place where we fear saying certain words, behaving authentically and allowing ourselves to feel open within ourselves let alone with others.
In most cases it is understandable why there needs to be caution, but when it comes to manual therapy in particular, I wish more therapists and clients can communicate respectfully & openly when treating “sensitive areas”. Sensitive areas are the armpit, breast tissue, sacrum and inner thigh. Others I didn’t list, I personally don’t feel are sensitive😔
The inner thigh in particular is the most under treated and under appreciated area for many reasons, main one being that it is tied to sexuality.
I post this in hopes of urging more therapists to practice being comfortable treating the adductors in full and also to open client’s perspective to the importance of treating this area.
Your adductors may be contributing to back pain, shoulder pain, knee pain etc
They play a crucial role in the overall balance of your hips and your ability to engage appropriate muscles for most activities in your daily life.
Therapists, PRACTICE makes CONFIDENT. Clients, open communication and awareness makes for meaningful RESULTS in your functional health journey.
See your body differently, realize how amazingly intricate your physical make up is.
Happy Weekend Everyone!!!🙌☺ #THL #thehealinglotus #mobilemassage #massage #therapy #manualtherapy #rehab #mobility #functionalhealth #health #wellness #toronto #miami #travel #inhomemassage #thaimassage #thailand #mind #body #work
