Does Deep 👐🏾 = effective?? You may have walked into your appointment knowing you want deep tissue work, but once your therapist starts working on you, you feel as though they aren’t tipping the iceberg in regards to how deep you want your treatment to be.
You can always tell if 1: they know what they are doing, or 2: they are unsure with their hands.
That being said, your tissues are comprised of layer upon layer upon layer upon layer of this that and the other. An effective therapist would know to begin superficial and work their way down. A solid structure isn’t one to lay an elbow in from the beginning.
Be aware of what your therapists hands feel like. If you sense uncertainty in them, emphasize the quality and depth to treatment you require.
If they know what they are doing they will confidently explain to you their technique approach AND let you know what they are feeling on your body.
